TEA PLEASE

A fun, interactive performance that started in the coworking space I was managing. It was a way to get people interacting with each other in creative ways through the power of a simple tea break. The idea escalated into something further reaching outside of the walls of the office, and Tea Please became a special event with customisable themes, a special opening song, a tea ritual with special ingredients, chanting and singalongs to help the brew steep, ‘the most satisfied sip’ competition etc. It was performed at Christmas time as a historic ritual for the Katherine Mansfield Birthplace staff, To launch Bee Awareness month at the Botanic Gardens, to open the Island Bay Puppetry Festival, to open a botanical themed art exhibition, and twice as a part of the Lucid Dream Bike theatrical night ride.
